Help! Someone Wants Their Data Deleted
Responding to Privacy Requests - What every GW staff needs to knowWhen an individual asks to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of their personal information, how should your department respond?
As privacy laws continue to evolve, individuals increasingly exercise their rights to access, correct, delete, or otherwise manage their personal information. In support of GW's Privacy of Personal Information Policy, this workshop provides staff with practical guidance on identifying, and responding to individuals’ privacy rights requests.
This interactive workshop helps GW staff confidently navigate privacy rights requests and understand their role in assisting the GW Privacy Office in the completion of such requests. Through practical examples, case studies, and discussion, participants will learn how to recognize a request, engage the right stakeholders, locate relevant information, and contribute to a timely and appropriate response.
Whether you manage student, employee, research, donor, alumni, or operational data, this session will provide the knowledge and tools needed to support GW's commitment to protecting personal information and respecting individual privacy rights.
